automake-1.7 on AUR (Arch User Repository)

1. Install "automake-1.7" effortlessly via AUR with the help of a helper(YAY)

a. Install YAY (https://github.com/Jguer/yay)

$ sudo pacman -S --needed git base-devel && git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/yay.git && cd yay && makepkg -si

b. Install automake-1.7 on Arch using YAY

$ yay -S automake-1.7

* (Optional) Uninstall automake-1.7 on Arch using YAY

$ yay -Rns automake-1.7

2. Manually Install "automake-1.7" via AUR

a. Ensure you have the base development tools and git installed with:

$ sudo pacman -S --needed base-devel git

b. Clone automake-1.7's git locally

$ git clone https://aur.archlinux.org/automake-1.7.git ~/automake-1.7

c. Go to ~/automake-1.7 folder and install it

$ cd ~/automake-1.7 $ makepkg -si
